From the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office

KENTWOOD, LA –– Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in identifying those responsible for several car burglaries and one auto theft in Kentwood last night.

On May 14, 2020, around 6:30 a.m., a 2017 Kia Soul was stolen from a residence off of Hwy 440 near Sumner High School. Thankfully, the vehicle was located abandoned on I-55 just south of Amite shortly after being reported stolen.

Around 8:30 a.m. the same morning, a resident of Jules Waller Rd. reported that two of their vehicles were burglarized overnight. The suspects removed cash and several firearms from the vehicles.

Detectives feel that these cases are related. Sheriff Daniel Edwards requests the public's assistance in solving these cases. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division Det. Matthew Dean, and Capt. Blane Sanders are the lead investigators.
