TPSO investigates theft of AC units from church
Press Release from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office:
HAMMOND, LA – July 14, 2020 - A church was hit hard over the weekend by thieves who took off with three of the building's air conditioning units.
On July 12, 2020, at approximately 10:47 a.m., deputies responded to Amite River District Convention Church on Old Baton Rouge Highway in reference to the theft of two 5 -Ton and one 3- Ton Rheam Air Conditioning Units.
Members of the congregation stated the air conditioning units were last seen in place on July 8, 2020, around 8:00 p.m.
Throughout the course of the investigation detectives learned a white Dodge Pickup and a grey Jeep Cherokee with a white driver's side door may have played a part in the theft.
No arrests have been made. The TPSO is looking for information that could help identify possible suspects. Anyone willing to come forward with an anonymous tip is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800.553.5245. TPSO Detective Wylie Foster is the lead investigator.
