Larry "Chip" Stewart Clark

Larry “Chip” Stewart Clark, 66, passed away July 20, 2020 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. He was born in Auburn, New York and as a young child he and his family made their way to Brunswick, Georgia and ultimately Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Chip graduated from Broadmoor High School and then attended LSU for engineering. After two years of study at the University, he knew his passion was for law enforcement. He then pursued a career in law enforcement and began work at the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD). During his 32 years of service with BRPD he performed numerous tasks such as traffic, uniform patrol, investigations, and worked in communications. He used his handwriting analysis skills while working in the investigative division that aided in the arrest of many. He served as assistant uniform patrol commander as well as district commander during the later part of his years with the force. At the time of his retirement, he had achieved the rank of Major and was a vital contribution to our local law enforcement.

Chip was a gun, motorcycle, and football enthusiast, he loved those Tigers. He wrote a book on Handwriting Analysis entitled “Graphology for Investigators”. He was always passionate about the people and hobbies he loved. Chip lived in Watson, Louisiana and is survived by his wife Bridget Savoy Clark, son Kristofer Clark, daughter-in-law Megan Clark, grandson Sebastian Clark, sister Judith Ann Clark, brother William “Bill” Clark, sister-in-law Laurie LaCoste Clark, and many other family members who deeply cared for him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Stewart Herbert Clark and Barbara Beebe Clark.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at noon at Live Oak United Methodist Church, located at 34890 LA Hwy. 16, Denham Springs, La. 70706. Donations can be made in his memory to Live Oak United Methodist Church.
