Jimmie Ray Davidson, Sr.

Jimmie Ray Davidson, Sr. 78, passed away peacefully at his home on August 8, 2020 surrounded by his beloved family. Jimmie was a man of great character and a heart full of love for God, his family and his country. He was a proudly patriotic man. He loved the American flag and had one waving in his front yard. Jimmie spent 40+ years building homes with his brother, JY. Jimmie built his family home on the same property he was born on in 1941. He enjoyed growing strawberries on the same land his Father had grown them years earlier. Jimmie enjoyed putting up an extensive Christmas light display every year. He loved to see people drive by with kids to look at them. Jimmie’s absence will leave a void in the hearts and lives of all that were blessed to know and love him. His legacy will comfort us in the days ahead until we see him again.

Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Myrtis Stewart Davidson; brother, Tommy Davidson (Susie); sister, Margie Davidson Fuller; daughter, Tammie Davidson Merriman (Bobby); son, Jimmie Ray Davidson, Jr. (Shannon); daughter, Belinda Davidson Zeigler; grandchildren, Sean Allen (Shan), Lacie Allen Sojdei (John), Logan Davidson (Madi), Leslie Davidson (fiance’ Justin); great-grandson, Skyler Sojdei. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Davidson and Mary Neyland Davidson of Independence , Louisiana. Sister, Margarette Davidson Allen; brothers, Samuel Davidson and JY Davidson, Sr.; Son in law, Mike Ziegler.
