James "Bud" Lonzo Jennings

James joined his wife in heaven on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at the age of 80. He was a resident of Ponchatoula and a native of Merigold, MS. James was known to adore his family and enjoyed spending time with them and did so by hosting his “Pig Out’s”. During his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, watching sports, collecting coins and a good nap. James was also known as an “Antiquer,” and brought the tradition to the family by starting his Antique business that he was immensely proud of. James was a one of a kind man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He leaves behind his children, Christi Jennings Ledbetter and husband Gary, Chad Anthony Jennings and wife Angie; daughter, Jan Jennings; sisters, Margaret Bishop, Joyce Fisher, Faye Hewett, Mary Campanile and Martha Campanile; brother, Walter Jennings; grandchildren, Mitchell Padayao, Taylor Whittington, Dylan Jennings, Chelsey Whittington, Alyssa Kimball, Blake Meyn, Brady Jennings; and great-granddaughters, Marlee Rose Padayao and Taylor Payne.

James is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Rose Marie Jennings and parents, James and Ruby Jennings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson, Ponchatoula, on Monday, August 3, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Curtis Brewer will officiate and entombment will follow at The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Cemetery in Plattenville, LA at 1:00 p.m.
