Man charged with possession of stolen property
Press Release from the Franklinton Police:
On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, Franklinton Police Department Officers responded to a burglary on Manning Dr. in Franklinton, La. Complainant reported someone had stolen a dryer from his residence on Tuesday. This was the second reported burglary at the same residence during May. The first occurring on May 13, 2020, where several household items were stolen, since May 11, 2020, there have been 5 residential burglaries reported on Manning Dr.
On May 20, 2020, Sgt. Chad Dorsett and Sgt. Shawn Rice went to speak with residents on Manning Dr. during the course of the investigation Detectives came into contact with William Robby Cutrer (39) who resides at 702 Manning Dr. Detectives obtained consent to enter the residence and observed a dryer, which fit the description of the one stolen on May 19, 2020. Cutrer gave several different explanations as to how he had possession of the dryer. Cutrer was placed under arrest for illegal possession of stolen things. Detectives secured a search warrant for the residence and located several other stolen items taken during the previously reported burglaries and drug paraphernalia throughout the house.
Cutrer was transported to the Franklinton Police Department and charged by Capt. Randall Penton with possession of stolen property (Misdemeanor), Possession of drug paraphernalia (Misdemeanor), 3 counts of Possession of Schedule III drugs (Felony), possession of burglary tools (Felony) and 1 count of burglary(Felony).
The investigation is ongoing.
