Madisonville mayor re-elected; at large returns
MADISONVILLE---Jean Pelloat has won a second term as the Madisonville Mayor.
According to complete but unofficial returns, Pelloat won with 268 votes to opponent “Charlie” Tucker’s 54. Turnout was 47.6 percent in the race.
In the Town Council race, Brad Maddox led the field of nine with 17 percent of the vote. James Dennis “Jim” Bouey and “Tim” Bounds each carried 16 percent of the vote while “Keith Dennis” and “Chris” Hitzman garnered 13 and 11 percent of the vote respectively. Rounding out the field were Robin Martin Eckert with 9 percent, Steven Marcus with 8 percent, Kevin Brannigan Doran with 7 percent, and Lane Thomas with 3 percent of the vote. Turnout was 41.7 percent in this contest.
Up the road in Covington, “Rick” Smith garnered 50 percent of the vote in the City Council at Large race. Smith had 1,219 of the 2,460 votes cast. Steve Stokes finished second, followed by Grant Waters and Jerry Coner.
