Livingston Sheriff's Office investigates rash of vehicle burglaries

From the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office

The LPSO Armed Robbery & Burglary Division responded to Audubon Village Subdivision located in Denham Springs today following multiple reports of vehicle burglaries.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘Between 2:00 a.m. & 6:00 a.m. this morning, two unidentified suspects pulled on multiple vehicle door handles in and around the area.

At this time, we can confirm 10 vehicle burglaries. During our investigation, we have confirmed 2 firearms, coins, a wallet & a flashlight to have been taken. All vehicles appear to have been left unlocked. There are no signs of forced entry at this time. This investigation continues.’

Our LPSO experts suggest the following safety measures for all Livingston Parish citizens:

* Lock your vehicles

* Remove/secure all valuables

* If your home is equipped with motion lights, make sure they are in working order and pointed in the direction of your vehicles

* If you have surveillance video equipment, make sure it’s set to record movement and that it’s pointed in the direction of your vehicles

* Report any suspicious activity to LPSO at (225) 686-2241 ext. 1

Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to call us at 225-686-2241 x1 or Greater Baton Rouge Crime Stoppers.
