HAMMOND---More than 260 business leaders celebrated the Greater Hammond Chamber’s 2020 Installation and Awards Luncheon sponsored by First Guaranty Bank at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Student Union Grand Ballroom on January 9, in Hammond.
Reflecting on her year as chairman, Ginger Cangelosi, with Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development said, “The Greater Hammond Chamber and Tangipahoa Economic Development share the same mission of hard work, unified leadership, strategic collaboration, and a plan for investment in the future of Tangipahoa Parish. It's been a pleasure serving as chairman for the Greater Hammond Chamber this year and as a board, we have moved forward with a strong team of business leaders and led serious efforts to advocate, educate, promote, grow, and assist our members with their businesses throughout Tangipahoa Parish."
Accepting the gavel as 2020 Chairman, was Rick Sedberry with Movement Mortgage. Sedberry said, “The Greater Hammond Chamber is your business partner who locks arms with you to create a win-win partnership for everyone. It doesn’t matter what type of business you are, there are opportunities for you as a member and we invite everyone to join us.”
Hammond Square/Stirling Properties was honored as Business Member of the Year, celebrating its ten-year anniversary of Hammond Square and recent investment in the shopping center’s redevelopment and expansion.
Hammond Square is the second-largest open-air shopping center in the state of Louisiana. Stirling Properties recently demolished the former Sears and Rite Aid buildings at Hammond Square to make way for a multi-tenant retail redevelopment project. The company announced last year that Michaels, HomeGoods, Five Below and PetSmart would occupy the space and join the tenant lineup. Buildout is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020, with the retail tenants anticipated to open in the second quarter. Hammond Square is also developing a two-tenant building in front of the former Rite Aid that will house additional restaurants, including Five Guys.
In 2018, Stirling Properties also added Hammond Square Self Storage to the development, a 3-story, 93,902-square-foot self-storage facility. It features 626 climate-controlled units, outdoor RV / boat storage areas, as well as the industry's most advanced security surveillance system and state-of-the-art amenities.
