On April 15, 2020, the Hammond Police Department began investigating the theft of lawn equipment from a truck in the parking lot at the Lowe's Home Improvement, located at 3007 Highway 190 West.

HPD Officers were told that two males were observed taking a backpack blower and weed eater from the back of a truck and placing it into a shopping cart. They transported the equipment across the parking lot where they then loaded it into the back of an older-model, green, 4-door Dodge Ram truck with white-colored passenger side doors.
