Falconer, McMath head to run-off in Senate District 11
Reid Falconer will head to a runoff against Patrick McMath in the Senate District 11 race.
With 100 percent reporting, Falconer carried 47 percent to McMath's 40 percent. Third-place finisher Richard Ducote carried 12 percent.
District 11 includes a large swath of St. Tammany and portions of southern Tangipahoa Parish. The seat is currently held by Sen. Jack Donahue, who is prohibited by term limits from seeking re-election.
In other Senate races around the region:
*Sen. Beth Mizell won re-election to her Senate District 12 seat with 69 percent of the vote. Her challenger, retiring School Superintendent Darrell Fairburn garnered 31 percent across the trip-parish district.
*In Senate District 13, where Sen. Dale Erdey was term-limited out of office, Rep. J. Rogers Pope pushed ahead to win with slightly more than 50 percent of the vote in a three person race.
*In Senate District 6, Bodi White won re-election with 80 percent of the vote against his challenger.
