TPSO: Father, son arrested after Ponchatoula traffic stop
Press Release from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office:
On October 30, 2019, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Office arrested two subjects who were being sought by the TPSO for several thefts and burglaries that occurred over the past several days in the Ponchatoula area.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Office was contacted by an alert citizen who noticed the suspect vehicle traveling on I-55 near the Manchac area.
Assisted by the Ponchatoula Police Department, the suspect vehicle was subsequently stopped by Detectives of Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office on Range Road at the intersection of Louisiana Hwy 22. Detectives observed numerous items believed stolen inside the vehicle. Drug Paraphernalia and suspected narcotics were also located inside the vehicle.
Arrested suspects were a father and son, Jacob Edward Knight (DOB -06/04/1992)of South Range Road Ponchatoula, Louisiana and George Edward Knight (DOB -11/21/1960) also of South Range Road Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
Detectives are currently conducting search warrants along with interviews as a result of the stop/ arrest. Information and charges will be updated as soon as detectives have completed their investigation.

George Knight and Jacob Knight, both from Mississippi, were taken into custody tonight in Ponchatoula. PPD officers assisted TPSO deputies in locating these individuals and conducting a traffic stop. They are suspects in numerous reports of burglaries and thefts that have occurred in the area recently.

PONCHATOULA, LA - October 30, 2019 - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public's assistance in identifying the male subject in the attached photo.
Yesterday morning, this unidentified white male stole several items from a residence on Esterbrook Road in Ponchatoula. This subject walked on the victim's property and knocked at the door. When no one responded, he proceeded to steal the victim's Stihl Chainsaw and Stihly weedeater.
The vehicle does not have a license plate and we believe through the video surveillance that was an occupant in the car.
