Slidell man arrested following pursuit by deputies

From the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office

A Slidell man is in custody following a brief pursuit Tuesday (August 4) afternoon in Slidell.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, a St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputy was attempting to conduct a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry, which was being driven by Treyvon Warren (DOB 6/12/1998) in the area of Amos Road near Slidell.

Warren failed to stop and instead sped down Amos Road, turning onto Highway 11. While driving at a high rate of speed, Warren lost control of the vehicle and the Camry flipped coming to rest upside down, just south of Spiehler Road.

Warren fled the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot but was quickly captured by deputies and taken into custody.

He was transported to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Upon his release, he will be booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charges:
L.R.S. 32:300.5 Texting While Driving
L.R.S. 32.415 Driving Under Suspension
L.R.S. 14:108.1C Aggravated Flight from Officer

He will also be booked on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court.
