Man arrested for manslaughter in Madisonville

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s has arrested Harry Cleland (age 57) for Manslaughter in connection with an incident that occurred at a Madisonville-area residence Christmas night.
The initial investigation into the incident, revealed that Cleland and the deceased were involved in a romantic relationship and had been fighting.
The argument escalated and at some point during their altercation Wednesday (December 25) evening, Cleland armed himself with a gun and the deceased armed himself with a machete.
Cleland fired upon the victim, striking the victim multiple times before calling 911.
**St. Tammany Parish Coroner Dr. Charles Preston has identified the man killed in an apparent domestic incident near Madisonville yesterday at Christopher Taylor, 21.
Following an autopsy, Preston will rule on cause and manner of death.
Taylor would have turned 22 on Dec. 28.
