Lots of criminal cases in Tangipahoa & St. Helena

Amite- District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on March 3, 2020 before Judge Robert Morrison and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Lasata Austin Jr., age 26, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to three counts of possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances and possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances-cocaine. He was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay all fines and court costs.

Kenyatte Berry, age 19, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to two counts of distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances and aggravated flight from an officer where human life is endangered. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Koran Blackman, age 23, of Reserve, LA, pleaded no contest to first degree injuring public records and automobile insurance fraud. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections for each count. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Kevin Ferdinand, age 41, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution or possession with the intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances- oxycodone. Sentencing is scheduled for March 25, 2020.

Hunter Fralick, age 31, of Albany, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- methamphetamine. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Troy Glass, age 41, Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- cocaine and attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections for each count. Time is to be served concurrently.

Zytario James, age 26, of Mandeville, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- amphetamine and possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances-methamphetamine. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections for each count. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $250 fine along with court costs.

Stephen Meiners, age 26, of Covington, LA, pleaded no contest to resisting an officer with force or violence. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $250.00 fine along with court costs.

Willie Mitchell, age 27, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to illegal possession of stolen firearms. He was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. He is ordered to pay a $250.00 fine along with court costs.

Edward Morgan, age 26, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to theft in excess of $1,000.00 but less than $5,000.00 and theft of a motor vehicle valued at $5,000.00 or more, but less than $25,000.00. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Deette Powell, age 52, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to theft $5,000.00 or more but less than $25,000.00. She was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and she was placed on probation for two years. She is ordered to pay a $250.00 fine along with court costs.

Corey Rodgers, age 26, of Tickfaw, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances-methamphetamine and possession of firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to 10 years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Brian Rogers, age 50, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to theft of $25,000 or more. Sentencing is scheduled for July 6, 2020.

Brandon Russell, age 36, of Holden, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

John Strate, age 39, of Tickfaw, LA, pleaded no contest to domestic abuse battery- second offense. He was sentenced to six months in the parish jail.

Earl Temple Jr., age 58, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances- methamphetamine. He was placed on probation for two years.


Greensburg- District Attorney Scott M. Perrilloux reports that the following individuals appeared in court on March 6, 2020 before Judge Elizabeth Wolfe and pleaded either guilty or no contest or were found guilty of the following crimes and received the following sentences:

Johnny Cousain Jr., age 50, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to two counts of theft. He was sentenced to six months in the parish jail for each count. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay all fines, court costs, and restitution.

William O’Conner Jr., age 30, of Pine Grove, LA, pleaded no contest to theft. He received credit for time served.

Terry Burton, age 39, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to driving while intoxicated. He received credit for time served.

Joseph Cheatem, age 26, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Tommy Felder, age 24, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to aggravated battery and two counts of battery on a correctional facility employee. He was sentenced to six years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Molly Goodman, age 24, of Hammond, LA, pleaded no contest to possession of schedule II controlled dangerous substances and simple burglary. She was sentenced to three years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and she was placed on probation for three years. She is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Elzie Hawthorne Jr., age 57, of Kentwood, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances. He was sentenced to seven years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Jamie James, age 31, of Independence, LA, pleaded no contest to simple criminal damage to property. He received credit for time served.

Timothy Kelly, age 24, of Moss Point, MS, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He was sentenced to two years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Hector Medina, age 29, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to domestic abuse aggravated assault and production/manufacturing/possession with intent to produce or manufacture marijuana. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.

Terrance Miller Sr., age 41, of Natalbany, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute heroin, distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule II controlled dangerous substances, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics. He was sentenced to 12 years with the department of corrections. Time is to be served concurrently.

Aaron Page, age 25, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. He was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Brandon Perry, age 33, of Tickfaw, LA, pleaded no contest to first offense driving while intoxicated and battery of a dating partner- second offense. He was sentenced to one year with the department of corrections. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He is ordered to pay all fines and court costs.

John Robinson, age 23, of Ponchatoula, LA, pleaded no contest to armed robbery and theft of a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to a total of 20 years with the department of corrections. He received credit for time served.

Trenier Smith, age 20, of Amite, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute schedule I controlled dangerous substances- heroin. Sentencing is scheduled for March 24, 2020.

Tyler Wyre, age 20, of Roseland, LA, pleaded no contest to distribution/possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He was sentenced to five years with the department of corrections. The sentence was deferred and he was placed on probation for three years. He is ordered to pay a $500.00 fine along with court costs.
