Hammond Police seek leads in armed robbery of dollar store

Hammond, LA – On October 11, the Hammond Police Department began to investigate an armed robbery at the Family Dollar located at 1355 Highway 190 East.

Upon arrival, HPD Detectives learned that two black males entered the store, pointed their guns, and demanded money from the register. The suspects took the cash and several packs of cigarettes. They then struck one of the store employees in the head with a handgun and fled the store on foot in an unknown direction. Both suspects wore bandanas covering their faces, gloves on their left hands and hoodies covering their hair.
