Ken Benitez / Monday, January 11, 2021 / Categories: Latest Stories, Crime Hammond man wanted for rape and accessory to murder The Hammond Police Department is asking for information about the whereabouts of Laqonte Detray Turner, Jr.On October 24, 2020, the Hammond Police Department was notified by the Southeastern Louisiana University Police Department of a female stating that she had been raped at a location off-campus the night prior. Through investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect as Laqonte Detray Turner, Jr., 23 years old of Hammond.A warrant was issued on November 4 for one count of Second Degree Rape. Turner is also wanted by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office for two counts of Accessory to Second Degree Murder and two counts of Obstruction of Justice.
