Perrilloux reports that 25-year-old Joshua Faust, of Albany, LA, pleaded no contest to Manslaughter in the death of his father, 61-year-old, Larry Faust.On October 22, 2018, LPSO deputies were dispatched to a residence on Pine Hill Drive in Albany, LA, in reference to a battery complaint. While in route, deputies were informed that the 911 caller, Joshua Faust, stated that he had just killed his father Larry Faust by strangulation and needed police and ambulance. Upon arrival, Joshua Faust was inside the residence, but exited when deputies arrived on scene. Joshua was advised of his Miranda Rights which he acknowledged he understood, Joshua was then placed into handcuffs and transported to the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Deputies located Larry Faust in the master bedroom lying deceased on side of the bed. Bruising to Larry’s neck his area corroborated statements made by Joshua to 911 dispatchers, stating he choked his father. In an interview with authorities, Joshua Faust stated that he and his father shared the residence and had been having issues for a while. Faust gave specific details about how he committed the strangulation and homicide. His statements were consistent with the findings of the coroner during the autopsy. Joshua Faust was sentenced to 30 years with the department of corrections without the benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. The plea was taken after consultation and approval by the victim’s family. Assistant District Attorney Kurt Wall represented the State of Louisiana; Judge Charlotte Foster handed down the sentence.
