Martin, Bryer vie for Ward 3 Justice of the Peace post on March 27

GREENSBURG---Qualifying closed Friday with one Justice of the Peace elected without opposition and a two-candidate race set for March for the other.

According to information provided the Louisiana Secretary of State's office, Kermit Brown of Greensburg will be named Justice of the Peace for Ward 2 in St. Helena Parish, having been elected without any opposition for the post.

A second JP's race for the 3rd Ward will go to a March 27 ballot between two women, Iola "Tiny" Martin and Armetta Bryer, both of Greensburg.

Qualifying for both posts closed Friday at 5 p.m.  Those two openings were the only positions pending for the March election.
