RALPH HENRY WATSON, age 89

a native and resident of Franklinton and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge died at 12:01 AM Saturday at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and lived a short while at the War Veterans Home in Jackson. He was a retired clerk with the ICG Railroad with 32 years of service.

Survived by: Wife of 61 years Elois Corkern Watson of Frankllinton Children: Ralph Dwayne and Sonya Watson Nancy Watson all of Baton Rouge 2 Grandchildren: Michael Wayne Watson Brittney Lenora Watson both of Prairieville 1 Brother Edsell John Watson of Franklinton 4 Sisters: Billie Jean Reed of Eureka, IL Katherine Tiner of Franklinton Sylvia Assel of Metairie Dianna Smith of New Orleans He was preceded in death by his parents Ennis and Bevie Fussell Watson; 2 brothers Wiley and Denzel Watson and a sister Elouise Cunningham.

Visitation at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton after 10 AM Monday, Feb. 8 until time for the funeral service at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Gene Richards officiating. Burial in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

SDT Waste President Sidney Torres IV has been named Grand Marshal of the Sicilian Festival which runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Independence. Torres is pictured above with Mayor Mike Ragusa and Chairman Reggie Martin holding a case of Castello beer that was presented to him at Town Hall.
